where do you charm elder wolves? also...do they come as level 20 like elder spider? of course, that is probably the case because they dont turn hearty/elder until level 20 right? one more thing....I heard that pets change in looks as they evolve to playful/hearty etc. Is this true? as i have never had a pet that long so I could never tell a difference Last edited by Teutonic_bladehand; Aug 24, 2005 at 03:57 AM // 03:57.. |

I don't know anything about the pet changing looks as it evolves, as I named mine before I found out about that =/
But, I was playing around with my R/W, and I had this crazy idea to get him to use a Pet and maybe change to a R/N... but I couldn't do it right. Sure, my Lizard was an awesomely powerful level 13, but he kept gettin pwnd when I went to an area where I'd gain XP, and I didn't have anything to protect myself =/ But, yeah, pets are way wrong if you put some effort into it. R/Mo would be great, as you could heal your pet, but Mo/R may be better (more energy). R/W is spiffy, but not all that helpful for a pet. R/N should be good, but I don't know all that much about Necros. R/Me should also be powerful, but a Me/R may be better for energy. Just remember that Expertise doesn't work on Spells and build accordingly. |

Jhyphi - that might have been me posting that info here
I know I've posted it here before, as well as posting the link to where I got the info from... Teutonic_bladehand - pets get bigger as they grow in level's. As far as i'm aware they don't change appearance at all no matter what evolution they are on. the only "visible" difference happens to be with their name.. which will change unless you have re-named your pet. |

You're saying that YOU'RE trying to create a character using pets to PROVE that they don't suck?
Well think again. It's just one of the useless things in the game. A little tip; You're wasting your time. |

I was messing around in Comp Arenas with my 20 R/M and I came upon a group with a Mo/R, Mo/Mes, and Nec/Mo. The Mo/R said he was testing a "pet only build", I almost left, but I thought I would give it a shot. He used symbol, balthazars, and shield, along with other pet attack spells, and we won 10 straight , 7 flawless, moved to team arenas (forcefully) and wne 10 there as well, and after 20 wins we got tired. And trust me, that pet f**kin owned :-D. My UW spider had nothin on that wolf.

How about if every warrior ran around using a sword/axe/hammer with only 3 in swordsmanship, etc. or eles running around with 3 in air magic using only air magic skills? Same principle, they'd completely suck in that case also. Of course, from your post, there's really no reason to argue with you. It seems like you're one of those stubborn people who would've clung to the idea that the world was flat or that it's impossible to build an airplane b/c they didn't start off with that idea. You're probably one of those who goes on missions with only warriors, eles, monks and wonder why some missions/bonuses/bosses are so hard completely neglecting interruption and shutdown. |

jhyphi is correct, pet masters are quite good if you can use them correctly, i had one for a while. but it wasnt my style, way too much micromanagment for me, its like using characters at the same time, and my ADHD wouldnt stand for it

Quick question (sort of noobish):
Do I have this correct? - Pet damage is determined by your BM level. - Pet HP is determined by the pet's level. - Pet armor is determined by the pet's level, but stops increasing after a certain level (lvl 5 or lvl 10, something like that). - Pet doesn't "evolve" (elder, hearty, etc) until level 20, and can only evolve once. Please set me straight if you find any of this in error. Thanks. |

Is there any official stats on the different pets and their damage, health, etc...? Or is it just players testing stuff out?

Grammer - Some answers
1. correct. Pets have a base damage, the the amount they do is based off your BM level. 2. Pet's health is based off their level and what evolution they are on - some evolution's add health, while others reduce health. 3. Pet's armor is based off what level and stops at level 20 when they reach AL 60 (pet's level, not yours) 4. Pet's have 2, maybe 3 evolutions. they evolve first time around 10-13 and then again at 17-20 and supposedly can evolve again at 19-20. Try these link's for more detailed info -> http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=20579 http://forums.gwonline.net/showthread.php?t=346270 Kool Pajamas - there is no official information available for pets and their statistics. Everything we know has been tested and verified by the players themselves |

Question, while im here: I have a level 20 snow wolf. Is it worth it to have the pet but not using any skills related to it? I just bring the 2 skills required to have the pet, but no other. He's quite tough, but should I just leave the pet home instead?
